April Newsletter

100th Anniversary of the Code of Ethics
"Under all is the land…" 2013 is the 100th anniversary of the REALTOR® Code of Ethics. NAR has created some great public awareness ads that can be downloaded and easily customized. Follow this link:http://www.realtor.org/articles/realtors-celebrate-the-code

Fair Housing Month

The 1968 Fair Housing Act prohibited housing discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, or handicap. Every April, REALTORS® celebrate Fair Housing Month to reaffirm their continuing commitment to fair and equitable treatment and a professional level of service for all in their search for real property.

TBOR has run a print campaign in the JH News & Guide this month to support Fair Housing month on behalf of all the members.

Bowling for RPAC

The first annual Bowling for RPAC was held April 20th at the Elks Lodge. Over 40 bowlers participated and we raised over $3000 for RPAC. The Bank of Jackson Hole “Pin Heads” were the big winners and took home the traveling trophy.

The Sotheby’s “International Wannabes” were honored with the Best Dressed award.

TBOR Scholarships
TBOR awarded the first of four area (Jackson, Pinedale, Star Valley & Idaho) scholarships this month. Each scholarship awarded is for $1000 and the applications were all remarkable.  Star Valley hasn’t had their scholarship night yet, but these are the volunteers that headed up the job in each area and the student that received the scholarship.

Pinedale:  REALTOR®; Judy Smith, Student; Tayln Costello
Driggs:  REALTOR®; Gayle Conyers, Student; Arely Baez
Jackson: REALTOR®; Nancy Martino, Student;  Kinsly Smith

Town Clean Up

TETON BOARD OF REALTORS®

proudly announces

Scott Fitzgerald

as their 2012 Business Person of the Year

ScottFitzgerald.jpeg

Scott Fitzgerald

After having worked in bicycle shops in Vermont, Portland and Jackson, Scott Fitzgerald started Fitzgerald’s Bicycles in Jackson in 2002.  From its humble beginning as a one man repair shop in the corner of a local clothing consignment shop, to its recent move to a spacious new shop in Victor, ID, Scott is most proud of the recognition his crew has earned.

In addition to being voted “Best Bike Shop Jackson Hole” for 2009, 2010 and 2011, Fitzgerald’s Bicycles was recognized as a “Top 100 Retailer” by Bicycle Retailer Magazine for 2010, and one of the “100 Best Bike Shops” for 2011 by Bicycling Magazine.

Fitzgerald’s mission is: “to grow cycling, the fortune of our people, and respect for the planet”.  To that end, Scott has traveled to Boise, ID and Washington, DC to meet with top officials to advocate for cycling.  Fitzgerald’s Bicycles also supports non-profits and community events that provide cycling programs.  Fitzgerald’s works hard to provide long term employment, and employees are made to feel like a family.  Their commitment to sustainable and responsible business practices is demonstrated by purchasing recycled paper and their use of environmentally friendly cleaning products.

Congratulations Scott Fitzgerald as

TBOR’s 2012 Business Person of the Year!
